Senior Software Engineer - Browser Research

About c/side:

C/side is laser focussed on solving web security, starting with browser side injections. Covering previously unmonitored attack surfaces in developer and user friendly ways.

About the role:

We are looking for a dedicated engineer to focus on extending our browser side capabilities, leveraging browser APIs across platforms and versions to offer the most ultimate security experience. Testing, exploring and digging deep into behaviours under niche circumstances in various browsers. You will collaborate closely with our security analyst, detections and back-end team.

What you will do:

• Research, test and implement browser side API’s and detections across various browsers, underlying infrastructure and software version. It's the wild west out there, you’d be our Indiana Jones.

• Together with our security analysts; research and reverse engineer attacks to expand our detection capabilities.

About you:

• You have a thing for browsers. You’ve pulled apart Webkit, Chromium, Quantum…

• Have a heavy front end track record using advanced front end technologies like WebGL, WASM, WebRTC, WebXR, IndexDB, Web Workers,… and have used advanced browser APIs to leverage machine specific components such as webcams, microphones, notifications…

• Strong proficiency in Javascript and typescript is an absolute must (stating the obvious)

• Knowledge of network technologies and protocols such as TCP, UDP

• Have a lot of energy and are eager to work in a dynamic startup environment, working hard to build world changing technology, going from 0 to 1.

• You have 4+ years of experience in an advanced front-end, full-stack or client-side focussed engineering role. We’re an early stage start-up, we need you to be self-sufficient and experienced. Unfortunately at this stage we are not able to invest in coaching junior engineers yet. 

• And if you like to, but not a requirement, do the occasional public speaking about your findings.
